Manuel Hidalgo, a struggling artist haunted by the August heat, spends a day drawing the face of a man he’s never met—only to find him hours later in a remote marble workshop, carving a gravestone with Manuel’s own name and tomorrow’s date. A slow build of heat, fate, and unease, told in a single suffocating summer day.
