As Stubborn As a Wild Horse.
This story was born from a question I’ve asked myself for years: what do we owe the people who raised us, even when they failed us? In As Stubborn As a Wild Horse, a former hockey player working as a hotel cleaner is pulled into a final road trip with the father he hasn’t forgiven. From San Francisco to Alaska, they cross the long distance between bitterness and understanding. It’s a deeply personal piece for me—the first time I wrote honestly about my personal life: fathers, forgiveness, and the stones we carry inside.
